World Health Organization

Made up of 194 members, the World Health Organization (WHO) was created on April 7, 1948. It coordinates global efforts to respond to health crises and provide access to all the care needed to promote the mental, social and physical well-being of the world's population.

The world is going through the century of depression, where more than 700,000 people die of suicide every year. The figures are alarming and are growing due to the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, one of which is the 25% increase in cases of mental disorders. The WHO estimates that more than 1 billion people around the world suffer from a mental illness, with 14% of this statistic represented by adolescents.

For these reasons, the WHO strongly encourages debate on the topic of "Reducing stigma in mental health", in search of ways to create a safer society worldwide. Since victims of psychological complications have suffered from the ignorance and prejudices of a society full of outdated thinking.
