29th United Nations Climate Change Conference

Below you will find the study guide and additional information from the COP 29 committee

The Conference of the Parties (COP) is an international climate conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), created in March 1995. The main objective of this body is to limit climate change around the world and prepare for it in the future, involving the cooperation and unity of countries willing to improve global climate conditions. This institution was responsible for creating documents such as the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement, which have played a major role in negotiating solutions to climate instability. This year, the 29th edition of the event will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11 to 24.  During CCRMUN 24, delegates will be challenged to find solutions to the theme: "Early warning systems for natural disasters", given that the issue causes various damages to the world's population, such as loss of housing, internally displaced people, food shortages and extreme poverty. In addition, they must deal with the problem of fossil fuels and unsustainable practices that make the situation even worse. CCRMUN 24 decided to address this topic because it recognizes the importance and urgency of the debate to find possible solutions to the current scenario.
